TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION OF THE DRILLING RIG
The rig ZJ40/2250DB is a new kind of AC-VFD-AC drive 1000hp land drilling rig with rated drilling depth up to 4000m(13,123ft) with 114mm(4 ˝”DP) or to 3500m(11,483ft) with 127mm(5”DP). Rated maximum static hook load is 2250KN. On the basis of comparing different kinds of rigs of 4000 meters grade, we took many advantages of different rigs and, at the same time, brought forth new ideas to the rig. Some of the techniques we used on the new rig have gotten patents. With many characteristics such as advanced techniques, small wellsite possession, high drive efficiency and the capability of cluster wells drilling, the rig is more suitable for drilling on the smaller wellsite when necessary. For example when drill in mountain area, farmland or in the city.
The main advantages of this rig are as the following:
��When rig up, the mast is assembled with several sections and lifted vertically so that when rig up, the necessary installation area possession of the rig is smaller than those assembled horizontally. Additionally, the lifting of the mast and the substructure uses two set of hydraulic winch and a very small hydraulic pump station, which made the lifting of the mast and the substructure very simple and doing nothing with the drawworks.
��The drawworks is fixed on the ground with a very small base (it is different to the normal rig with which the drawworks is installed on the drillfloor), so it does not possess the space of the drillfloor, which make the operating space on the drillfloor very big, and people who working on the drillfloor will feel very comfortable and safe.
��The drawworks main brake is the hydraulic disc brake instead of the traditional band brake, which makes the driller’s operation easy (the driller just needs to operate a very small hydraulic control valve instead the heavy brake bar). Additionally, no parts of the drawworks assembly need water cooling, what make the rig more suitable for used in very cold area.
��The advanced SIEMENS 6SE71 VFD system is used to control all the AC motors used to drive the drawworks, the mud pumps and the rotary table, so that the speed regulating performance is very good.
��The SIEMENS VFD controlled AC motor driven automatic drilling system are realized on this rig.
��When drill cluster wells, all the equipment stand in their original position (include the drawworks) except that the substructure and the mast be disconnected with the base of the drawworks and be pulled forward. The drawworks stand in its original position and the fast line goes through a guide pulley, and then to the crown and the traveling block, so the rig is suitable for drilling the cluster wells.
